Halloween is one of my favorite holidays and so I have decided to start out this week's blog with a scary story. Not too long ago and not very far away, there was an oil company named Inefficient Oil.

I have just finished the basics for a big feature in mapping. When you have uploaded a shapefile to represent your tract it will be colored in based on the tract’s lease status.
When creating a feature, most of the time we'll leave it in a very rough state while we discover the ins-and-outs of how it will work. Once we have that decided on exactly how it should work we go back through and "polish" the feature until we're happy with the quality.
Hello, this is my first blog post so let me take a sec to introduce myself. I have been programming/fixing computers since I can remember. I started programming in classic ASP and now find myself in the wonderful world of asp.net.
Though it is quite clear in the application itself, I don't think it's been mentioned here- LANDBOSS version 1.01 was released on 10/8/2009.
Being a software developer, aka a "computer guy" in Oklahoma has naturally led to many projects in the oil and gas industry, but LANDBOSS has been the most fun. Hi, I'm David and I'm one of the developers of LANDBOSS.
Since the official launch of LANDBOSS, we have had many requests for the ability to take the data from the system they currently use and easily get it into LANDBOSS. A reasonable request, to be sure.
Hello, my name is Blake Anderton, and welcome to my first post here at the LANDBOSS blog!
Most oil and gas land software packages you'll find are still built using desktop software (i.e. installed software). However, the rest of the software industry has embraced the web and software applications of all kinds have been re-created as online, browser-based software.
